# Device fingerprinting

> How Pinto gives every session a stable, distinct browser identity.

Every Pinto session is fingerprinted as a real, distinct device. On first use, Pinto generates a stable browser profile and stores it on the session. A given client always sends the same identity, but different clients look like different devices.

Each profile includes:

* a `User-Agent` (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, or Opera on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or iOS)
* a matching `Accept-Language`
* consistent `sec-ch-ua`, `sec-ch-ua-mobile`, and `sec-ch-ua-platform` headers

This lets many anonymous readers avoid tripping a single global fingerprint.

To pin a session to one egress IP, inject a custom `fetch`. See [Proxies and custom fetch](https://traceryn.online/pinto/proxies.md).
